Palm Radio had several inquiries about a small tone generator in the past, so the »Tone Tube« has been developed recently to close a gap in the keying systems delivery program. The gray electronics module with the speaker is mounted into a black plastic housing (ABS, enhanced impact resistance), which serves as a resonator. 

Visually, the Tone Tube matches  perfectly with Palm Radio's Portable Key, and Mini Paddle with Code Cube,  but  it can easily be used with any straight key,  cootie key, or bug, and with the output of most electronic keyers--  that is, virtually any on/off straight key type device. For practice with a paddle you will need an electronic keyer such as the Code Cube). A built-in small speaker produces a smooth, shaped wave tone which is adjustable in frequency and volume. This speaker is automatically turned off when you plug in a stereo headphone. The Tone Tube is supplied in Palm Radio's "travel case" and includes a spare battery.

Operating time (with a replaceable CR2032):

• Speaker, maximum volume - about 20 hours CW (20 mA)
• Headphones - about 200 hours CW (2 mA)

Key input and headphone output: are via 3.5mm (1/8") stereo jacks,  and there is optical indiction of keying by LED.
